Running for a Cure!
Cheryl was a tenacious woman in her battle with Aplastic Anemia and the complications that arose from her bone marrow transplant. She fought hard right to the end. Her dream was to go back to the job she loved in Pediatric Oncology at the Stollery Children's Hospital at the U of A.
She was a beautiful person, loved life, gave of herself and lived every day to the fullest! We want to continue her giving legacy through our annual event and our blood donor clinics.
During her battle with Aplastic Anemia Cheryl required weekly blood transfusions to survive. Many patients, including children at the Stollery require blood for any number of reasons, be it for transfusion or surgery! We started our Partners for Life campaign to encourage peope to give this most valuable gift that sustains life!
We also support the Stem Cell/Bone Marrow registry and encourage people to see if they are eligable to become a donor. It is such a simple process that can save a life! There are both kids and adults across our country waiting for their perfect match!

You Can Make A Difference!
Making a Difference in the Lives of Our Children, Our Future!
The Stollery Children’s Hospital is a full-service pediatric hospital and centre for complex pediatric care and research established in 2001.
The Stollery is the only specialized healthcare facility for infants, children and youth in central and northern Alberta. It has among the highest inpatient volumes of any children’s hospital in Canada, and serves a geographical area of over 500,000 km. The Awasisak Program provides culturally sensitive services that respect indigenous families & their traditions. We are proud to support the Asasisak Program with all funds raised from our run going directly to the program.
Fundraising for the Stollery helps invest in the best people, programs, equipment & research to advance children’s physical and mental health care right in our own backyard!
Together we can give kids the best chance to live a long & healthy life!
